The design challenge presented with this house was to take a dated 1950s ranch-style rambler and breathe new life into it for a busy family of four. The goal was to create an open loft feel between the main living spaces. Walls came down, architectural beams were added and finishes refined and simplified to create a visually cohesive, soothing environment.
Bleached red oak floors (original to the house), crisp white walls, dark European style cabinets and classic Carrara marble were the foundations upon which we layered the furnishing. Even the children’s rooms were thoughtfully designed and integrated into the overall vision for the house.
